Regional law firm is looking for an experienced Law Librarian to manage the firm's legal research materials, monitoring acquisition and renewal of those resources, preparing an operating budget, negotiating and monitoring vendor contracts, and allocating, organizing and disseminating legal resources. Function includes (1) research, analysis and evaluation of the accuracy, quality and validity of information, (2) coordinate training for legal professionals, and (3) organizing, classifying, maintaining and finding law library resources and materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
: Assist with information gathering and finding legal reference materials.
: Manage electronic content/databases.
: Respond to reference questions.
: Conduct basic research across a wide range of practice-specific areas of law.
: Participate in orientation and training of new attorneys and staff members.
: Review print and electronic materials and make recommendations for additions, deletions and acquisitions/enhancements to the collection.
: Monitor appropriate list-servs and professional publications.
: Review and evaluate website information and other sources for new titles and editions and make recommendations on new purchases, replacements, updates and removals from the collection.
: Assist in training of lawyers and staff on the use of internet-based legal research programs such as Westlaw, LexisNexis and emerging electronic resources such as Google Scholar, electronic journals, online court dockets and legislative materials.
: Perform various cataloging procedures for all types of library resources.
: Review all incoming library invoices for accuracy and submit disbursement requests.
: Disseminate CLE information and enroll attorneys in CLEs.
: Assist with conducting conflict checks and opening new clients.
Requested Qualifications & Skills
: A library science degree and/or directly related experience as a law librarian.
: Ability to plan, implement and/or coordinate projects.
: Strong attention to detail
: A professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Library Science
